Really enjoyed the seminar yesterday. I just had one question which I forgot to ask at the time…

Does anyone have any opinion on how the industry is likely to embrace this technology in terms of available devices supporting it. At the moment only 30 or so devices (Windows OS devices and the Nokia series) support the distributable player. At what rate is this likely to increase?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ian,

We are tracking 31 devices at launch and over time we intend to increase this. To put things in perspective there are about 40m compatible S60/WM devices in the market now. Volume isn’t everything however, our goal is to enable developer success by targeting the most valuable sales channels with high ARPU users.

As a developer, you are the industry when it comes to mobile content and so whether it takes off depends on you. Adobe have the support of the largest OEMs, operators, and chipset and OS vendors through the Open Screen Project.
